Customer.io & Scoreapp Integration

This article assumes you are already logged into your Customer.io account before following the steps. If you are not logged in, the system may prompt you to do so first, which may slightly alter the order of the steps described below.

Important

Before starting the integration, please ensure you have created an Attribute in your Customer.io account to store the Scorecard result your audience receives at the end. This could be a score or any other value.

Information

As we are not experts in Customer.io, this article has been created based on the information provided in their Help Center and documentation. Please note that their guidelines and processes may change at any time without prior notice to us. We recommend visiting the Customer.io Help Center for the most up-to-date instructions on creating attributes or any other elements required to complete this integration.

Step 1: Authenticate Scoreapp with customer.io

  • From your Scoreapp home page, navigate to the left-hand menu bar and click Integrate.

  • Then find the Customer.io icon in the list of available apps and click Configure.

  • Click the Connect button to begin the process.

  • You will be prompted to enter your Kit API Side ID and the API Key.
    • To find those, go to Settings > API Credentials, in your Customer.io account.

  • Once you've entered the required information, click the Save button.

Step 2: Customize Your Integration

  • In the Settings section, you can assign specific tags to indicate how your leads start and finish the quiz. This helps you visually identify who abandoned the quiz and who completed it. This step is optional, so you may choose to leave this section blank.

  • Scroll down to the Map Lead Form Fields section. Here, you’ll notice that all fields from your lead form are automatically mapped to the corresponding fields in Customer.io. No action is required unless you wish to adjust these mapping

Navigate to the Map Result Fields section to connect the scorecard result data to a custom field in Close.com:

  • Click Add Field to open a pop-up window.

If you didn’t create an attribute in customer.io earlier, and instead paused the integration to create it now, Scoreapp won’t show a "refresh" option at this step. To update the integration, exit and re-enter the page so the new field appears.

  • Click the Add Field button.

  • You will see a pop-up prompting you to enter the attribute name created in Customer.io. This is case-sensitive, so ensure you type it exactly as it was created. ScoreApp does not provide a drop-down list, so you must manually enter the name where the Scorecard result will be stored.

  • In the pop-up, select the piece of result information from ScoreApp that you’d like to transfer. For example, you might choose the highest category, but this is just one example. You can select the information that is most relevant to you, as ScoreApp offers a variety of options for capturing and transferring your audience's results after completing a Scorecard.
  • Finally, click the Test Integration button to ensure everything is set up correctly.

  • Here is an example of how leads appear in Customer.io after the integration is complete and starts capturing data. The Scorecard result is stored under attributes, along with other lead information.
