Zapier & ScoreApp Integration
From your Scoreapp home page, navigate to the left-hand menu bar and click Integrate.
Then find the Zapier icon in the list of available apps and click Configure.
Press the "Go to Zapier" button to begin the process.
You will be redirected to another browser tab. Here, you'll be prompted to enter the name of the platform you wish to integrate with Scoreapp. For this example, we'll use Mailchimp, but you can enter any platform name as Zapier integrates with over 1,000 platforms
Once you've selected the platform, click "Connect these apps"
This will take you to the Zapier canvas, which displays a two-step Zap.
# 1: This step defines the source of the data. In this case, it's Scoreapp.
# 2: This step defines the destination of the data. This could be your CRM (Customer Relationship Management system) or ESP (Email Service Provider), such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Mailchimp, etc.
Step 1: Set up the source of the data (ScoreApp)
- From the right-hand menu, select "Trigger." Choose the trigger that best suits your needs.
- For this example, we'll use "Quiz Finished." This means that lead information will be extracted from Scoreapp and sent to your CRM/ESP only after the lead completes the scorecard. Leads who close the scorecard prematurely will be stored within Scoreapp's scorecard responses but will not be transferred to your CRM/ESP.
- If you prefer to send all lead data regardless of whether they finish the scorecard or not, we recommend selecting a different trigger.
Next, select your Scoreapp account. If you have sub-accounts, ensure you select the correct one to view the correct list of funnels.
In the Configure section, select the scorecard you want to pull data from.
After selecting the scorecard, click "Test Trigger." This allows Zapier to pull test data and confirm a stable connection between Scoreapp and Zapier.
Zapier will display a test record labeled 'Lead A.' Select it and click 'Continue with Selected Record.
Step 2: Set up the destination of the data (CRM or ESP)
For the second step, select "Add/Update Subscriber" as the Event. This ensures that all contacts, both existing and new, are updated.
Next, you will be prompted to provide any necessary credentials to allow Zapier to connect to your chosen platform. Once you have completed this, click Continue.
Heads-up
- Up to this point, the Zapier integration process is the same for all CRMs and ESPs.
- The "Configure" section presents an integration form. This form helps you map data from Scoreapp to specific fields in your CRM or ESP.
- Fields refer to spaces where data is stored, such as email, name, phone number, etc.
- Some CRMs/ESPs allow you to create custom fields. These custom fields can store specific data like individual scorecard responses or scores.
- Other CRMs/ESPs may not allow custom fields. In these cases, you'll need to use tags to categorize leads based on their results.
- The specific form will vary depending on your CRM/ESP. However, the principle remains the same: you'll transfer and store the data, either in custom fields or through tags.
Let's now review the essential parts of the form shown above:
- Choose a list, group, segment, or any other relevant category within your platform.
Map the email address:
- Locate the "Email" field.
- Click the dropdown menu and select the sample email provided (indicated by the Scoreapp logo).
If a "Double Opt-in" option exists, ensure it's set to "No" to prevent leads from being blocked.
Map the name:
- Locate the "Name" field.
- Click the dropdown menu and select the sample name provided.
Map the score or result:
- Before this step, create a custom field in your CRM/ESP named 'Scorecard Result' (or a similar name). This field should be of the 'Text' data type.
- Refer to your CRM/ESP's help center for instructions on creating custom fields.
- Once created, the "Scorecard Result" field should appear in the Zapier form.
- Click the dropdown menu and select the sample data representing the highest category.
Once you've mapped all the data between Scoreapp and your CRM/ESP, click 'Continue' to proceed to the testing step.
In the testing step, you'll see a summary of the data that will be transferred between platforms.
- Remember, this is sample data.
- Click 'Test' to send a test lead.
- Note: If your platform has a validation rule that rejects fake emails, you might encounter an error message.
This does not necessarily indicate an issue with the integration.
The error likely occurs because the test lead uses a fake email address, and your platform (like Mailchimp) has a validation rule to reject such emails.
In this case, click 'Skip Test'
Then click 'Publish.' This will complete the integration process.
You've successfully integrated Scoreapp with your chosen platform!
