Beehiiv & ScoreApp Integration

This article explains how to connect your ScoreApp account with Beehiiv so you can automatically send quiz leads and results into your Beehiiv audience.

This guide assumes you already have access to a Beehiiv account. If you are not logged in, Beehiiv may prompt you to log in during setup.

Information

Before starting the integration, you will need the following from Beehiiv:

If you want to send quiz results or other non-contact data, we recommend creating custom fields in Beehiiv. When creating those, use Text-type custom fields to avoid formatting or sync errors.

Step 1: Authenticate ScoreApp with Beehiiv

  • From inside your scorecard, click Integrations in the left-hand menu.
  • Browse the available integrations and locate Beehiiv.
  • Click Configure.

  • Click Connect.

  • When prompted, paste your Beehiiv API key.
  • Click Save.

Once authenticated, the integration form will load and show that Beehiiv is connected.

Step 2: Configure Integration Settings

  • In the Settings section, you’ll configure high-level behavior for the integration.
  • These settings apply to all quiz takers, not individual users.
  • One important option to review is Double Opt-In:
    • Use publication default settings: Beehiiv will apply the double opt-in behavior defined in your Beehiiv publication settings.
    • Force double opt-in: All subscribers will be required to confirm their email address before being added to your Beehiiv audience.
    • Skip double opt-in: Subscribers will be added to your Beehiiv audience immediately, without requiring email confirmation.
  • Choose the option that best matches your email compliance and audience strategy.

Step 3: Map Lead Form Fields

  • Scroll to Map Lead Form Fields.
  • Name, email, and phone are automatically mapped.
  • No action is required unless you want to map additional contact-related information, such as:
    • Job title
    • Company name
    • Location

If you want to map extra contact fields, make sure the matching custom field already exists in Beehiiv.

Step 4: Map Result Fields

  • Scroll to Map Result Fields.
  • This is where you map non-contact data captured during the quiz experience, such as:
    • Overall result
    • Score or percentage
    • Category names
    • Category scores
    • Answers to specific questions
    • Results page URL
    • PDF report URL

To map result fields:

  • Click Add Field.
  • Select the ScoreApp data you want to send.
  • Select the corresponding Beehiiv custom field.
  • Click Save.

Reminder: These fields must exist in Beehiiv first, and text-type fields are recommended.

Step 5: Map Audience Tags (Optional)

If you are using Audiences inside ScoreApp, you can also map this data to Beehiiv.

This allows you to:

  • Segment subscribers based on the audience they belong to
  • Trigger campaigns or automations inside Beehiiv using that data
  • Select the appropriate field and save your mapping.

Step 6: Test the Integration

Once all mappings are complete:

  • Click Test Integration.
  • Confirm the test runs successfully.
  • If the test passes, your integration is ready and new quiz takers will begin syncing to Beehiiv automatically.
