Integrating your Scorecard to third party platforms and systems

You can integrate Scoreapp with a multitude of third party platforms and CRM systems including Zapier which provides access to 1000's of other platforms.

Integrating your Scorecard with a platform such as your CRM means that when a new lead fills in the Lead form on your Scorecard, their details will be automatically pushed across into your tool in the background.

Then if a Lead completes the full Scorecard, their answers and results can also be pushed across in a secondary call to your tool.

The exact data that gets pushed across to your chosen platform can be configured field by field as well as settings for lists, tags and merging strategies (dependant on integration).

Getting Started

To find the integration settings first log-in to your dashboard, select the Scorecard that you'd like to integrate with and then click on 'Integrate' on the left nav. You should then see a list of all of the available integrations.

Connecting to your chosen platform

Simply select the platform you would like to integrate with and click on the 'Connect' button.

Depending on the platform you are integrating with you will need to enter some information in the authentication popup. Often this will either require you to login and provide permission to your chosen platform via oAuth or by entering an API key which can be found under your third party platforms account settings. Each platforms requirements vary so the popup will change depending on the platform.

Once you have connected to your chosen platform you should see a Connected green tick and more settings should appear for 'Settings', 'Map Lead Form Fields' , 'Map Result Fields' and 'Integration Tags' explained in more detail below.

Settings

The first panel within an Integration will be a general settings panel. This will differ slightly for each integration, but it's usually where you can set things like Started Tags and Finished Tags if supported by the integration, or contact merging preferences again if supported by the specific integration. For more information we recommend visiting our documentation for the specific integration you're setting up.

Map Lead Form Fields

Map Lead Form Fields is where you can map any data that is available from the ScoreApp system that relates to the lead form entry. This is where you'll need to map name, email address, opt in status, and any custom fields you have added to the lead form such as phone number, country, industry etc. You'll find those custom fields by clicking "Answer" in the ScoreApp field selector which will in turn reveal an additional field showing the available fields.

As well as the form fields you will have access to other system data such as IP Address, UTM Tracking, Lead Key and much more. For the full details on available fields maps please see Integration Field Mappings [require link]

The data that you map in this section will be pushed into your chosen platform within a few minutes of a person filling in your lead form whether the lead form is set to before or after the quiz questions.

Note: Fields must already exist within your chosen platform before you can map it in ScoreApp. If they don't, login to your chosen platform, create them, and then refresh or revisit the integration page in ScoreApp for them to show.

To map a ScoreApp field to a field within your chosen platform:

  1. Click 'Add Field'
  2. The first input box in the Modal that pops open will list all of the available fields from within your chosen platform. You can scroll or search this box by typing. Find and select the relevant field from your chosen platform.
  3. The second input box provides you with the available fields and options within the ScoreApp platform. Select the relevant field. Remember if you're looking for a custom field that you added to the Lead form, you will find these by clicking 'Answer' in this list. Some fields that you select will reveal more options. For specifics please see Integration Field Mappings where each field configuration is detailed.
  4. Click save

Map Result Fields

Result fields work in the same way as lead form fields described above however here you will find a different set of fields related to the users results. The data that you map in this section will typically be pushed into your chosen platform as an update within a few minutes of a person finishing your Scorecard and receiving their results and after the Lead form data has been pushed.

Here you will find fields such as quiz question answers, scores, result urls, dates, and much more. For the full details on available fields maps please see Integration Field Mappings

To add a result field map follow the steps listed above in the lead form fields section.

Audience Tags

If your chosen integration supports Tags, and you have a ScoreApp subscription which includes Audiences (Business tiers and higher, excluding Legacy Business) you can use this functionality to map a ScoreApp audience to a tag within your chosen platform. For example, you could setup an audience with ScoreApp for "High Value Leads". This might be based on various scores and answers criteria that you setup within the audience settings. When a person fills in your Scorecard and enters that audience, you can setup your integration here so that it also applies a "High Value Lead" tag to that user in your chosen platform.

Note: Tags must already exist within your chosen platform before they can be mapped in ScoreApp. If they don't, login to your chosen platform, create them, and then refresh or revisit the integration page in ScoreApp for them to show.

To add an audience tag:

  1. Click add audience tag
  2. The first input box in the Modal that pops open will list all of the available tags from within your chosen platform. You can scroll or search this box by typing. Find and select the relevant tag from your chosen platform.
  3. Select your ScoreApp audience
  4. Click save

Test Integration

Once you have completed configuring your Integration settings and field mappings you can click to Test your integration. This will either attempt to send your last received lead to your chosen platform, or if you do not have any existing leads dummy data will be sent. The result will be displayed either as a green success message detailing the lead that was sync'd or you will receive a red error message that was returned from your chosen platform. If this is the case you should fix the field mappings and settings and test again until your integration is working successfully.

Frequently asked questions

I can't find a field that I added to ScoreApp in the available field mapping settings

Check that you're looking in the relevant section on the integration settings page. If you're trying to map fields related to your lead form ensure you're looking in the 'Map lead form fields' section. If you're trying to map fields related to results, scoring, quiz data etc ensure you're looking in the 'Map result fields' section. Once you're in the right section here, if you're looking to map a custom field added to a lead form or perhaps an answer to a quiz question you will find these fields by choosing the 'Answer' option in the ScoreApp field. From here a sub menu will display all of the available fields.

I'm seeing an error when I test my integration

The most common integration errors are due to a mismatch between the format of data within your ScoreApp Scorecard and what your integrated platform is expecting or a mismatch with pre-determined list values. For example if you have a setup a custom field within your integrated platform to store an answer score, and you have set the field type to be a number but you're actually mapping the answer itself within ScoreApp, the integration will throw an error because it's trying to send text data into a number field. Another common example is where you might have a drop down field on your lead form for example 'Industry' with a list of pre-determined industries to choose from. You then setup the corresponding custom field in your integrated platform to be a pick list with the same industries. If an industry exists in ScoreApp that does not exist in your custom field pick list in your integrated platform you will receive an error. In this example the values in ScoreApp must exactly match the values in your integrated platform, or it might be simpler to setup the fields in your integrated platform to be open text to completely avoid the issue.
