Using UTMs to track lead source in ScoreApp

What are UTMs?

UTMs are small snippets of text added to the end of a URL that are widely used to help you track where traffic and leads are coming from. A link to your Scorecard with UTM parameters added might look like the following.

https://yourdomain.scoreapp.com?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=ad&utm_campaign=summer_offer

When someone clicks on a link that contains UTMs and subsequently completes your quiz or form, ScoreApp captures the UTM parameters and stores them alongside the lead’s details. As UTMs are a universal standard you can learn more about them here and even use a tool to help you create UTM enabled links

Where UTM Data can be seen and used in ScoreApp

1) Leads Area

  • On the overall leads list you're able to use the filters to filter down to leads with specific UTMs attached.

  • On each individual lead record when you click onto an individual lead, under the 'Source' tab UTMs will be listed if recorded

2) Data Export – UTM fields are included as columns in the CSV lead export.

3) Integrations / CRM – Map UTMs to fields in your CRM through ScoreApp’s integrations. See here for integrations guide or here for mapping UTMs specifically

4) Audiences - UTMs can be used as part of the criteria to build Audiences

Looking to track values other than marketing source data?

If you want to pass data across to ScoreApp that doesn't typically fit the UTM use case such as referral codes, partner IDs, or unique identifiers perhaps lead form hidden fields could be more suitable. Find out more here
